The first vaccines generation of 20 century

The first generation of vaccines 20th century since Jenner, mass vaccination is allowed to keep under control more than a dozen human infectious diseases, at least in industrialized countries. Despite not having the sophistication of current vaccines, the vaccines prior to World War 2 were effective enough to dramatically reduce mortality caused by various diseases, giving credibility to programs to prevent infectious diseases. The scientific explosion that followed World War 2 gave rise to new vaccines, some of which are still in use today, as is the case of polio, measles, mumps and rubel.
